Same cleaner every visit: why it matters more than the price

Same cleaner every visit: why it matters more than the price

Why this matters

If you're a Melbourne homeowner reading this, here's a scenario you might recognise: you book a cleaning service, the first visit is great, and then the second visit is someone completely different. Third visit — different again. By the fourth time, nobody remembers where you keep the mop bucket and you're re-explaining your house to a stranger every fortnight.

This is the single biggest complaint we hear from residential clients. Not the price. Not the products. The revolving door.

What actually changes when you lock in one cleaner

Three things happen when the same person cleans your house every time:

  1. They learn the house. Where grease builds up, which tap drips, which windows catch afternoon sun and collect dust. After three or four visits, they stop needing instructions and start anticipating problems.
  2. You stop micro-managing. There's a reason the second-best cleaning arrangement is "no arrangement at all" — the mental load of explaining, checking, and re-explaining makes a mediocre clean worse than doing it yourself.
  3. Trust builds. You're handing someone keys to your home. That relationship needs repetition, not rotation.

Why agencies still rotate cleaners

The economics of large agencies make consistency hard. They overcommit bookings, staff call in sick, and the easiest fix is to send whoever's available. It works for the agency's schedule. It doesn't work for your house.

The alternative is a smaller operation — or an agency that explicitly locks in a primary cleaner and only substitutes with advance notice and a documented handover brief. That's what we do.

How CleanerHub handles this

We assign a primary cleaner to your home. If they're unavailable (sick leave, annual leave), we tell you in advance, send a substitute who's been briefed on your scope, and your regular cleaner picks back up on the next visit. Your scope of work is written down, so a substitute can follow it without you needing to re-explain anything.

Every cleaner carries $10M public liability and a current national police check. Pricing is fixed per visit and agreed in writing before the first clean.
